About the role

Who We Are Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month. As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually. Why Poland Poland is a new and deliberate addition to our engineering map. We recently made our first technology hire in the country, and we see it as a long-term strategic location for senior hires, particularly within engineering. Joining now means joining early, and helping shape what our presence here becomes. So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to join us in Poland. About The Role POS Hardware and Device Platforms owns the software behind the physical side of Moniepoint's business: the systems that track, move, maintain and account for millions of POS terminals in the field. That covers inventory and warehouse management, logistics and distribution, repair and maintenance workflows, and the operational tooling the business runs on day to day. It is a backend and distributed systems challenge at real scale - making operational data about millions of physical devices visible, trustworthy and consistent across every market we operate in. It is not a hardware engineering role. The Head of Engineering, POS Supply Chain, oversees that software estate and is vital as Moniepoint expands internationally and scales device operations globally. The position involves leading the technical strategy for the domain and managing a large engineering organisation in a remote, distributed environment. As Head of Engineering, Supply Chain, your responsibilities will include: • Owning the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics tools and repair management software. • Leading an engineering organisation of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and Data Engineering. • Driving platformisation of inventory and supply chain systems so operational data is visible, trustworthy and consistent across millions of terminals. • Bridging the gap between operational practice and software systems by building operationally disciplined solutions. • Defining architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics across squads to ensure reliability and data integrity. • Collaborating with business and operational stakeholders to translate operational requirements into engineering solutions. • Hiring, mentoring and developing engineering managers and senior engineers to support team growth up to 30+ members. Who You Are • 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases. • 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practising engineer. This means years spent writing Java yourself, not years spent overseeing teams who write it. • At least 5 years of experience managing managers - leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, rather than running a single team. • Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse or logistics software at scale. • Fintech or regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of the operational stakes of device management in a payments environment. • Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems. • Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more. • Experience managing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members. • Excellent stakeholder management
