Our engineers build the rails that move that money: quickly, securely and at scale. 📍 Limassol, Cyprus Hybrid or remote (EU/UK) Relocation support the role You'll join the team behind our APM Gateway , the service that connects payabl. merchants to hundreds of alternative and local payment methods, from wallets and bank transfers to stablecoin settlements. Every new method you integrate opens a new market for our merchants, so the impact is easy to see. This is a hands-on senior role. You'll own services end to end, shape technical direction with your squad, and help raise the engineering bar across the team. what you'll do • Design, build and run high-availability backend services in Python that process real-time payment traffic • Integrate new alternative payment methods (APMs) and providers, from API design to production rollout • Own reliability: observability, alerting, incident response and the fixes that stop it happening twice • Build security, PCI and regulatory requirements into the design from day one • Review code, mentor engineers and lead technical design discussions • Work closely with Product, QA and Risk to ship features merchants actually feel what you bring • 5+ years building production backend systems, with strong Python (FastAPI, Django or similar) • Solid experience with distributed systems, REST APIs, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and SQL databases • Comfort with containers and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP) and CI/CD • A habit of writing clean, tested code and documenting decisions • Clear communication in English across teams and time zones nice to have Payments or fintech experience (acquiring, APMs, PSP integrations), PCI DSS knowledge, or experience with crypto/stablecoin rails. why payabl. ↗ 25 paid days off + public holidays ↗ Annual learning budget ↗ International industry events ↗ Long-term rewards and provident fund ↗ Relocation support to Cyprus ↗ Lunch allowance and free office parking ↗ Group workouts and wellness activities ↗ Greek lessons and local discounts how we hire 1 Application review.
