About the role
At TicketSwap, we're on a mission to become the experience marketplace every fan loves. By bringing fans and experiences together, we help millions of people attend more events they love while supporting organisers in building lasting success. With over 20 million fans across 42 countries, we're making live events safer, fairer and more accessible.
As we continue to grow, we're navigating an increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscape. Building innovative products while staying compliant across different markets is essential to our success. That's why we're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who combines strong legal expertise with a practical, forward-thinking mindset.
Are you ready to help shape the future of live experiences by making sure great ideas can become reality, responsibly? Keep reading! 👇
What you'll do
As our Senior Legal Counsel, you'll play an important role in helping TicketSwap grow and innovate with confidence. You'll act as a strategic business partner working closely with teams across the business to identify legal opportunities and risks, translate complex regulations into practical advice, and make sure compliance is considered from the start when developing new products and features. You’ll join our Legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal and working alongside our Legal Counsel.
When an idea is brought to you, you look for ways to make it work within the rules, not reasons to say no. You know how to spot risks without slowing the business down. You'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, balancing legal requirements with commercial opportunities, keeping the interests of our fans and organisers in mind.
Your key responsibilities:
• Pro-actively shape product development: Join early in discovery and refinement, partnering closely with Product, Engineering and other teams to assess legal and regulatory requirements before new features and services are developed or launched and you are responsible for keeping them compliant after launch.
• Own the implementation of and compliance with (European) regulations: Research, interpret and advise on relevant EU (e.g. DSA, GDPR, AI Act) and national (ticketing) legislation, helping TicketSwap operate confidently across different markets.
• Turn legal complexity into clear risk-based advice: Translate regulations and legal risks into practical recommendations that enable teams to make informed decisions.
• Identify risks before they become problems: Proactively monitor (cross-border) regulatory developments, assess their potential impact and recommend and help prioritize appropriate actions.
• Support international growth: Advise on the legal implications of entering new markets, expanding existing operations and introducing new products or business models.
• Build legal awareness: Share knowledge and help colleagues understand the legal considerations relevant to their work, creating a culture of shared responsibility.
• Take ownership: Independently manage legal matters from initial assessment to resolution, knowing when to involve others and when to challenge the status quo.
