Senior Business Analyst (contractor), London

What are we trying to do? Lab49 was founded in 2002 with a deep pool of business and technology talent and a global reach. We specialize in helping clients realize rapid transformational change at an industrial scale and operate historically towards the upper tiers of banking and capital markets, to include banks, hedge funds and exchanges; assisting those companies with their most key strategic business programmes and technology investments. What do we need help with? We are looking for an experienced consultant to work on a large institutional multi-year business transformation and integration project in cross border payments. What will you do? Business analysis • Develop business requirements and backlogs • Develop detailed business specifications, including worked numerical examples • Develop functional architectures and solutions designs • Develop delivery roadmaps, identify dependencie s, risks and issues • Perform business process reengineer ing Consulting • Work as part of a team in hybrid manner • Engage with client stakeholders to ascertain requirements, and validate Lab49 output • Facilitate workshops between Lab and client to resolve issues, risks and discover requirements What do you need to know? Skills & Knowledge • Working knowledge of financial markets, some experience of payments • Working knowledge of typical financial flows and architecture • Understanding of business process modelling • Ability to gather and document business requirements • Understanding of a gile methodologies including the creation of epics / user stories and the effective management of backlogs • Stakeholder management • Excellent communication skills; able to represent the team, project and firm in all manner of client situations • Willingness and ability to get “hands-on” as needed; developing detailed specification and numerical examples Experience • Experience with business analysis projects both as an individual and as part of a team • Experience with business analysis in the financial markets environment • Experience working with IT teams to deliver products / solutions • Experience with projects from inception through to delivery • Experience working in an agile environment Who are you? • You want to help clients gain a deep understanding of their business processes and work with them to identify new and improved ways of working • You like to see things through from idea to final product • You keep up with the latest business trends in the market • You keep up with the latest techniques, e.g. Deep Learning, NLP, AI and how they can be used to solve problems, increase productivity • You pay attention to the details • You have the sufficient confidence and credibility to represent Lab49 to the client • You have the ability to understand the client need and articulate that to our internal teams • You have the drive and ability to be successful in new environments and domains. • You actively learn and develop your capabilities through self-study, and your network of peers and expert groups and organizations Why should you come work for us? • It is a challenge.
