- H-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
01 · Why this role exists
Invest in Values. Produce in Freedom. Boost Europe.
Behind every megawatt hour our clients save, there are people who make it happen. RIZM helps Europe's largest industrial companies – together around 2% of Europe's total energy demand – make their energy decisions with AI. Our agent RIZMO works as a digital colleague. But the most important colleagues are the ones we haven't found yet.
That's your job. We're about 15 people today and growing fast. There is no recruiting playbook yet, no big HR department and no "that's how we've always done it". You'll write the playbook. Not as application admin, but as the person who shapes who RIZM becomes.
02 · Hi, we're Diana and Josh – we'll be working together
I'm Diana, 20, I study civil engineering in Münster and I currently run recruiting at RIZM on my own, 20 hours a week. That's not enough for what's ahead of us, which is why we're looking for you. We'll build this together, side by side in our Münster office. Josh, our co-founder & CBO, comes from statistics and risk management and will be your sparring partner whenever you need one – for tricky candidates, for offers and for figuring out who we need next. Got questions before you apply? Just message me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/diana-pashaian-1637133b2/
03 · What you'll do
• Build the team of tomorrow: Design our recruiting from scratch – roles, workflows, tools – and later bring more recruiters and sourcers on board yourself.
• Find the right people: Track down engineers, energy experts and product people via LinkedIn, Juicebox, universities, communities and your own network.
• Win people over: Lead first conversations, tell our story convincingly and make sure every candidate feels well looked after – even when it's a no.
• Make it smart: Automate sequences, screening and reporting with AI instead of maintaining spreadsheets.
• Steer by numbers: Always know where the funnel gets stuck – and turn the right dials.
• Get us seen: Shape how RIZM is perceived as an employer – careers page, job ads, events, university partnerships.
04 · What you bring
• Experience: You've worked in recruiting or talent acquisition, ideally in startups or tech, and you know how to approach technical profiles.
• People sense: You spot potential even when it's not on the CV, and you talk to engineers as equals.
• Tech affinity: You try out new tools, build your own workflows and enjoy making things faster.
• Builder drive: You don't want to step into ready-made structures – you want to create them, independently, reliably and fast.
• Background: A degree in psychology, business, HR, social sciences or similar – or a path that prepared you just as well.
• Languages: Fluent German and English, written and spoken.
05 · What you get
• Performance counts: Uncapped variable pay plus equity – good work is visible here and rewarded directly.
• Real ownership: You're the first recruiter. What you build stays.
• A network that moves you forward: Sparring, mentoring and learning with the networks of our investors Point 9 and Earlybird.
• Once a year, we get out: A team workation with everyone, including conversations with inspiring guests like Robert Habeck, Kitty Mayo or James Vincent.
• Stay fit: Urban Sports Club membership.
• Münster office: You sit right next to our engineering team – the people you'll hire most – and you hear first-hand what makes a great engineer at RIZM. Recruiting thrives on short distances – the best ideas come up at the same table.
06 · How to apply
You don't need to write a classic cover letter. We don't think it tells us much about a person anymore.
Instead, picture this: a few years from now, RIZM welcomes its 100th team member. There's a celebration in the Münster office. On
