What you will do :
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, execute, and automate feature, platform, and system- level test plans based on product, platform, and solution requirements.
• Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features as part of broader system and solution workflows (e.g., switching, routing, resiliency, and high-availability scenarios).
• Perform platform-related testing, including: Hardware bring-up, Interface, and forwarding-path verification, Boot, upgrade, ISSU, reboot, and recovery scenarios, Redundancy, failover, and scale testing
• Develop and enhance test automation frameworks and reusable libraries using Python (PyTest preferred; Robot Framework is a plus).
• Execute end-to-end solution testing, covering multi-device topologies, control-plane/data-plane interactions, and traffic validation.
• Use networking test equipment (e.g., Spirent, Ixia) to generate and analyze traffic for functional, performance, and scale testing, and automate their usage where applicable.
• Analyze failures, debug complex issues spanning software, hardware, and network layers, and collaborate with engineering teams on root cause analysis.
• Document test coverage, results, defects, and risks; provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
• Support customer escalations by reproducing issues in lab environments and validating fixes.
What you need to bring :
• Automation-first mindset: Strong experience in Python-based test automation (PyTest), with the ability to build and extend automation frameworks.
• Networking fundamentals: Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts such as Ethernet, VLANs, basic switching, IP routing, and routing adjacencies.
• System thinking: Ability to validate not just individual features, but complete platforms and solutions.
• Debugging skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities across platform, protocol, and system interactions.
• Team collaboration: Clear communicator who works effectively with development, architecture, and customer-facing teams.

Technical Exposure (One or More Areas)
• Layer 2 & Layer 3 Features: Exposure to common networking protocols and mechanisms such as VLANs, LAG/LACP, spanning-tree variants, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS), and basic multicast concepts.
• Platform & System Validation: Hardware-software integration, control-plane and data-plane behavior, resiliency, scale, and performance testing.
• High Availability & Resiliency: Validation of redundancy, failover, convergence, and recovery scenarios across features and platforms.
• Virtual & Modern Networking: Familiarity with EVPN/VXLAN, VPLS, or virtualized netw
