About the role
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost & Commercial Management Lead to join our Real Estate team in the Netherlands.
Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you will lead the delivery of cost and commercial management services across major real estate programmes and portfolios. Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, you will provide strategic commercial leadership, oversee programme performance, and guide multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful investment outcomes.
This role is suited to a senior cost and commercial professional with a proven track record of leading large-scale capital programmes within complex real estate and construction environments.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of cost and commercial management services across major real estate programmes and portfolios.
• Act as the primary client interface, providing strategic commercial advice and leadership throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Establish and oversee programme-wide cost management, governance, reporting and controls.
• Lead the development and review of budgets, cost plans, forecasts and investment business cases.
• Provide commercial oversight of procurement, contracting, change management and risk management activities.
• Monitor programme performance and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior client stakeholders and project teams to align commercial strategies with programme objectives.
• Drive consistency, best practice and continuous improvement across cost and commercial management activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop cost management teams, supporting capability growth and knowledge sharing.
• Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of Turner & Townsend's Real Estate business.
• 10+ years' experience in Cost Management, Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying, including leadership responsibility for major programmes or portfolios.
• Strong experience delivering large-scale real estate, construction or capital investment programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead commercial strategy, governance and cost control across multiple projects.
• Experience managing senior client relationships and influencing key stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication and team development skills.
• Advanced financial, analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Professional qualification (RICS or equivalent), or working towards chartership.
This positions the role clearly as a programme-level commercial leader, rather than a senior project cost manager, while keeping the scope broad enough for different real estate sectors and project types.
