About the role
Fastly helps people stay better connected with the things they love. Fastly’s edge cloud platform enables customers to create great digital experiences quickly, securely, and reliably by processing, serving, and securing our customers’ applications as close to their end-users as possible — at the edge of the Internet. The platform is designed to take advantage of the modern internet, to be programmable, and to support agile software development. Fastly’s customers include many of the world’s most prominent companies, including GitHub, Yelp, Paramount, and JetBlue.
We're building a more trustworthy Internet. Come join us.
Fastly is growing its Indirect Procurement team and is looking for an organized, highly motivated Procurement Risk Specialist. This role keeps purchases moving through the procurement risk review process coordinating Procurement, Legal, Security, IT, and Business Systems so every request clears review as efficiently as possible. Working India hours alongside the Procurement Operations Specialist, you'll pick up newly triaged requests and drive their reviews forward so US stakeholders start each day with work ready to advance.
This is a coordination role. You own the momentum, coordination, and visibility of the procurement risk review process; the risk decisions themselves stay with the reviewing teams (Legal, Security, IT, and Business Systems). Your job is to make sure the right reviews happen, on time and to help unblock those reviews when needed.
What You'll Do
Review Coordination & Momentum
• Take handoff of triaged requests from the Procurement Operations Specialist and initiate the appropriate risk reviews across the Business Systems, IT, Legal, Procurement and Security teams.
• Act as the single point of contact for each review. You’ll be responsible for starting reviews, scheduling internal meetings, sequencing, and chasing inputs so no request stalls waiting on a next step.
• Set and communicate aspirational timelines and next steps for each review, keeping every stakeholder clear on what's needed from them and by when.
• Use the India-hours overlap to advance reviews outside US business hours, so US negotiators and stakeholders begin each day with requests ready to move.
Stakeholder Management & Escalation
• Serve as the connective tissue between requesters and reviewers by answering process questions and keeping everyone aligned on status.
• Proactively identify stuck or at-risk reviews and escalate them to the Director of Procurement with a clear picture of the blocker and the options to unblock it.
• Bring the right people together to resolve competing priorities or open questions between teams, keeping work advancing without owning the underlying risk decision.
Pipeline Visibility & Reporting
• Own and maintain the review pipeline tracker as the single source of truth for the status, owner, and age of every in-flight review.
• Track review turnaround against target timelines and surface bottlenecks, aging items, and trends.
• Provide clear, regular status updates to the Director and stakeholders, and flag process improvements as patterns emerge.
Process Integrity
• Ensure every request follows the defined intake-to-approval path and that required review steps are completed before a purchase proceeds.
• Keep review records and documentation accurate and current for audit and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to refining the review process itself as volume and needs evolve.
What We're Looking For
• 2+ years of experience in procurement, operations, risk coordination, or project/program coordination.
• Proven project-coordination skills: able to run many concurrent workstreams, hold owners to timelines, and keep momentum across teams.
• Strong stakeholder-coordination instin
