The Role and Impact
As an Emulation Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing Intel's silicon development by building and optimizing emulation and FPGA models from RTL designs. You will develop, integrate, and debug hardware and software collateral, enabling efficient pre-silicon verification, post-silicon validation, and software development. Your work will directly contribute to improving emulation usability, accelerating design cycles, and ensuring the reliability of Intel's products.
Business group
You will be part of the Silicon and Platform Engineering (SPE) Group, a team dedicated to crafting innovative silicon solutions that power Intel's products and platforms. SPE focuses on enabling cutting-edge design and verification, driving efficiency and scalability across Intel's hardware portfolio. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the group supports Intel's mission to deliver world-class technologies that empower global innovation.
Key Responsibilities :
• Build emulation and FPGA models and solutions from RTL designs, employing synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
• Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware and software collateral in simulation, emulation, and FPGA environments to verify new features.
• Write directed tests, create test environments, and develop hybrid emulation solutions to support hardware/software verification.
• Define and implement new capabilities and tools to enhance emulation processes and improve FPGA model usability.
• Collaborate with design, verification, and validation teams to optimize emulation environments, test suites, and methodologies for greater efficiency.
• Debug failing RTL tests on the emulation platform and provide guidance to verification teams for improving the usability of presilicon verification environments.
• Develop automation flows, aids, and scripts to streamline emulation utilization and accelerate RTL development.
• Contribute to SoC and IP bring-up, root cause analysis of testbench issues, and emulator/FPGA environment optimizations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 6+ years of hands-on experience OR a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience OR a PhD with 2+ years of experience in emulation, FPGA prototyping, or related domains.
• Proficiency in RTL design, synthesis, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with emulation tools and methodologies, such as FPGA prototyping, transactors, and performance optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of SoC integration and hybrid emulation environments, including virtual platform and FPGA/emulation models.
• Expertise in developing automation flows, scripts, and aids for emulation processes.
Preferred Qualifications :
• Familiarity with software and firmware verification tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of silicon power, performance analysis, and validation techniques.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
Join us in driving innovation and shaping Intel's future technologies. Your contributions will make a lasting impact on Intel's ability to deliver world-class silicon solutions that power the devices of tomorrow.
