Job Purpose:
The Principal Process Pulse Engineer role provides technical leadership for the Aspen Tech Process Pulse platform and related PAT systems across GSK Global Supply Chain and R&D sites. The role owns solution design, OT(Operational Technology) architecture alignment, implementation, validation and troubleshooting for Process Pulse deployments and ensures that technical outputs align with approved OT Reference Architectures, Quality & Tech Management controls/ standards, product strategy and engineering standards. The job holder leads Process Pulse solution configurations (data sources, models, configurations, triggers, (OPC Unified Architecture) OPC UA interfaces, firewall data flows), coordinates engineers, site OT/Automation teams, Architects, Product Owners, OT Security and suppliers, and acts as the technical lead for complex delivery and operational issues in OT environments. They review technical specifications, configurations and validation evidence, lead root-cause analysis where operational, batch or data-integrity impact may exist, and develop engineering capability by coaching engineers and super users and converting lessons learned into reusable designs, standards, training and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement Process Pulse technical designs and configurations (servers, database, data collectors, dashboards) in line with approved OT architecture, segmentation and product strategy
• Own technical quality for Process Pulse across assigned sites, including key specifications, design documentation, configuration records and validation evidence
• Manage the lifecycle of PAT models (creation, validation, deployment, monitoring and retirement) across platforms such as Process Pulse and Unscrambler, ensuring models are version-controlled, traceable and fit for process and quality use.
• Own the technical integration and data quality between modelling tools (e.g. Unscrambler), Process Pulse and execution / (Quality Control) QC systems so model outputs can be trusted for batch execution and investigations.
• Design and configure Process Pulse data sources, PAT models, configurations and access controls to support closed-loop control and real-time monitoring (e.g. condition monitoring, root-cause analysis, batch release).
• Keep Process Pulse configurations, scripts and infrastructure-as-code under version control, with automated deployment and upgrade checks and peer review of material changes, so OT integrations and platform changes remain traceable, repeatable and supportable
• Lead the design and configuration of OPC-based and other OT integrations between Process Pulse, analyzers, control systems and historians, in line with OT security standards and firewall patterns.
• Monitor system behavior (services, co
