About the role
About Hyperscale Power
Hyperscale Power is building the power backbone for the AI data center era: a complete power conversion chain from 13.8kV–35kV medium-voltage AC down to 800V DC, combining ultra-compact SiC-based AC/DC and DC/DC power blocks. As we scale from Alpha customer readiness toward Production and Volume Readiness, securing the right components at the right price and lead time – power semiconductors, magnetics, PCBs and mechanical parts – becomes mission-critical.
The role
As Procurement & Supply Chain Lead, you will own the purchasing and supply chain for the materials, equipment, parts and services that keep our prototype, pilot and volume production on track – from negotiating with suppliers to coordinating with contract manufacturers and logistics partners. You will partner closely with Engineering to translate technical requirements into sourcing decisions, and help build our purchasing processes as we scale.
This role is for you if you’ve negotiated with component suppliers yourself, like being hands-on, and enjoy building processes rather than following them – ideally with experience buying electronic components for B2B hardware such as power electronics, industrial equipment or automation systems. It isn’t for you if you prefer managing a team, require an established ERP and approval chain to work well, or a clearly defined, stable scope. It would not be a fit if your procurement background is mainly consumer goods, retail or indirect spend without hands-on exposure to electronic components.
What you will do
• Contract and purchase raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, services and supplies needed for prototype, pilot and volume production.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers for critical components – power semiconductors, magnetics, PCBs, and mechanical/enclosure parts.
• Issue and manage purchase orders; track order status and expedite as needed to meet production schedules.
• Source and coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers (EMS, PCB vendors, logistics partners) on order status, lead times and quality issues.
• Work closely with Engineering to understand technical requirements, communicate them clearly to suppliers, and identify alternate sourcing options for critical or long-lead-time components.
• Support supplier qualification and specification compliance for new and existing vendors.
• Maintain purchasing records, the Bill of Materials (BOM) and sourcing data; track lead times, inventory levels and supplier performance, and flag supply chain risks.
• Drive logistics and inbound/outbound shipments together with our logistics partners.
• Scale the supplier base and purchasing processes as we move from Alpha Customer readiness to Production and Volume Readiness.
What you bring
• BSc in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or comparable education, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain, specifically in electronics or hardware manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation skills; track record of managing supplier contracts and pricing.
• Specific experience sourcing electronic or mechanical components (semiconductors, PCBs, magnetics, enclosures); experience with contract manufacturers (EMS) is a plus.
• Organised and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple supplier relationships.
• Team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations in a fast-paced start-up environment with evolving priorities.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written; German language skills helpful, but not mandatory.
What we offer
• Equity + competitive salary.
• Unique technology and market opportunity – validated prototype and first paying customers o
