About the role

Company description:Ericsson ABJob description: Join our Team Join us to build, and run the storage services behind Ericsson R&D Reliable storage helps Ericsson’s research and development teams design, test and deliver what’s next. Join the RCE NES Data Storage team and help evolve the services and infrastructure they depend on, from design and implementation to secure, dependable day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity in our Data Storage team. We welcome recent graduates and candidates with up to around five years of relevant experience in storage systems or DevOps. You don’t need to be a security specialist: we’re looking for someone who wants to build and operate services with security built in. DevOps and infrastructure candidates are encouraged to apply. What you’ll do • Turn requirements into practical, cost-effective storage service designs, and contribute to service architecture and improvements. • Help install, configure, upgrade, patch, repair and retire storage hardware and software, primarily in on-premises environments, with growing connections to hybrid cloud. • Automate repeatable tasks and improve how services are delivered and operated. • Support service availability through proactive monitoring, alerts, audit and log reviews, and 2nd- and 3rd-line troubleshooting. • Coordinate data migrations and work with users, operations teams, suppliers and vendors to deliver changes and resolve issues. • Take part in asset, change, incident, problem and request handling; help manage access, identities, certificates and security zones. • Apply Ericsson security requirements and good practice through risk and security assessments, quality assurance and business continuity planning. • Keep service, system, project and operating documentation current; identify risks and impediments and suggest better ways of working. Skills you’ll bring • A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field—or equivalent knowledge. • Relevant experience, study or hands-on projects in storage, infrastructure, systems administration or DevOps; early-career applicants are very welcome. • Interest in storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, DAS and cloud storage, and protocols such as SCSI, NFS or SMB. • Familiarity with platforms such as NetApp, Dell, Pure or HPE, or the motivation to learn them. • Interest in scripting and automation. Python, PowerShell and Ansible are useful; other languages and tools are welcome. • A service-minded approach to reliability, security and ownership, plus clear communication and documentation skills in English. • A collaborative, curious, can-do attitude and care for well-built services. Experience with virtualization, containers, cloud, microservices, software architecture, agile development or continuous integration is beneficial, not essential. Why Ericsson Lab Operations? Work with an open team supporting services used by R&D around the world. You’ll contribute across the service lifecycle, collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, and help make storage more reliable, secure and efficient. Security clearance, references and relevant background screening will be conducted for final candidates.
