Pharmacy Key Account Manager (PKAM)
Pfizer GH&B Canada | Ontario
Purpose
Join a brand-new capability at the heart of Pfizer GH&B Canada's future. As we evolve toward a broader multisource and biosimilars portfolio, the retail pharmacy channel is becoming increasingly important, and strong relationships with retail pharmacies are key to increasing patient access to our medications.
As one of two newly created Pharmacy Key Account Managers (PKAMs), the Ontario PKAM will turn our retail priorities into execution at the account level, starting with supportive care biosimilars, where the pharmacy's dispensing decision, not the prescription alone, determines which product the patient receives. You will complement the Institutional Key Account Managers (IKAMs), who remain focused on institutions, and report to your Regional Business Manager (RBM).
The Ontario PKAM reports to the Ontario RBM.
Core Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within retail pharmacy accounts, including head office and purchasing teams, pharmacy owners, pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
• Increase Pfizer's presence and availability in the retail pharmacy channel so that prescriptions written for Pfizer biosimilars can be translated into dispensed Pfizer product.
• Identify and prioritize retail pharmacy accounts based on dispensing volume and growth opportunity for the GH&B portfolio, with initial focus on supportive care biosimilars.
• In collaboration with the IKAMs, the other PKAM and your RBM, develop and execute account strategies and business plans for priority retail pharmacy accounts in your territory, aligned with GH&B Canada's strategy and the needs of each account.
• Build a comprehensive understanding of each customer's objectives, strategies and priorities, including purchasing, inventory, dispensing and substitution practices, and apply it to account planning to create a compelling business case that leads to an agreed and executed plan of action.
• Develop channel-specific commercial approaches and account offerings that are competitive and responsive, working with Marketing, Contracts, Supply, Access and Value, and Legal and Compliance, and always within enterprise policies and applicable regulations.
• Maintain working knowledge of the provincial and private payer environments in your province as they affect retail pharmacy dispensing and biosimilar uptake, to support sound business decisions.
• Collaborate closely with the Virtual Healthcare Sales Representatives, the Field Patient Support Services Manager, Senior Strategic Healthcare Partners, Marketing, the Patient Support Program, and other field and head office colleagues to ensure aligned, non-duplicative engagement across the community, institution and retail ecosystems and to achieve sales objectives for the GH&B products in the assigned portfolio.
• Gather and share market insight on retail pharmacy channel trends, competitor activity in the multisource biosimilar market, and account-level sales and share performance, and feed it back to GH&B leadership, Marketing and Brand teams.
• Analyze account activity, monitor progress against account plans and channel objectives, and adjust action plans and resource allocation as appropriate.
• Coordinate and execute compliant educational programs for retail pharmacy customers, attend relevant conventions and events, and leverage Pfizer resources to benefit key customer segments.
• Provide input into the recommendation and deployment of Pfizer resources within accounts as required.
• Operate with a Digital First multichannel mindset, demonstrating high capability and d
