About the role

Working student / Werkstudent - Flight Deck / Systems Engineering (m/f/d) Company: Boeing Deutschland GmbH - BDG At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire. From the seabed to outer space, you'll learn and grow while contributing to work that shapes the world. Find your future with us! Our teams are currently hiring for a working student located in Neu-Isenburg who will join a Systems & Human Factors Engineering team that defines, builds, tests, and certifies the systems, flight deck functions, and avionics at the heart of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. We operate at the intersection where engineering meets software. In small, highly skilled, multi-national teams, we solve today's complex problems while keeping the future in mind. We work as integrated product teams: systems engineering defines what the airplane needs, software implements it, and systems engineering validates it, all in one place, close to the programs we support. At any given moment, tens of thousands of flight crews around the world are operating in the flight decks of Boeing-designed airplanes, and our deep flight deck domain knowledge, built over years of program delivery, shapes systems that pilots trust. The systems and functions you help shape will fly for decades and connect the entire globe. Come join a team of experts with outstanding knowledge in systems engineering, safety, human factors, flight operations, and software engineering. The successful working student has a passion for aviation and engineering, and enjoys working alongside engineers, human factors specialists, pilots, and customers who share it. Position Responsibilities: In our team you will perform a wide variety of dynamic and challenging work across existing and future systems and flight decks, including: • Establishing and refining system requirements for new functions and improvements, and helping test and validate them from early concept through service life. • Designing and evaluating the behavior, interfaces, and human-machine interaction of avionics systems and flight deck functions. • Supporting the development of avionics functions and safety enhancements (e.g., surveillance and alerting), contributing across the lifecycle from requirements through certification. • Prototyping and modeling systems, flight deck interfaces, and displays using commercial and company-unique tools, and validating them through analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight deck simulators. • Collaborating with systems engineers, software engineers, human factors specialists, and pilots to ensure our systems and flight deck interfaces complement the cognitive, physical, sensory, and ergonomic capabilities of the crew. • Building tools and processes (including agentic AI workflows) that make our engineering work faster and better. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Student Status • Fluent in English • Commitment to working 20 hours a week onsite in Neu-Isenburg • Past internship or work experience related to this position considered beneficial • International exposure from your studies and/or work experience beneficial • You will be located in Neu-Isenburg, Germany and working with colleagues worldwide Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor/Master/PhD degree program in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related technical field • Ability to work in a fast paced international team environment combined with strong verbal, written and social skills • Work with internal and external customers to extract complex requirements • Knowledge of human performance in aerospace
