About the role

Our Mission Human time and effort is the rarest thing in the universe. The fact that so many people hate what they do for work is a disaster on so many levels. How many people live quiet lives of misery? How many generational talents do we miss due to circumstance? Dex’s mission is to close the gap between Talent & Opportunity, we believe that work, and being productive, is part of the human condition, that regardless of AI, human passion, ingenuity and a desire to do things means that work will always exist. We are building Dex to create a future where technology helps every individual to understand their strengths, interests and unique abilities, and to connect with opportunities where they can thrive, because more people doing things they love leads to a better, happier and more productive world. We are starting by connecting the world's most ambitious software engineers with the companies that deserve them. The role Paid acquisition is one of the biggest levers we have on growth, and it's about to get a lot bigger. We run Google Search, LinkedIn and Meta today, we're adding new formats and channels, and over the next year we'll be running paid across more markets and across both sides of Dex: the engineers who use it and the companies who hire through it. You'll own our paid channels day to day. You'll decide where the money goes, launch and test campaigns quickly, and judge every channel on the quality of the people it brings in, not on clicks or cheap signups. Creative comes from our in-house creative lead, writers and UGC creators; your job is to brief them well, test what they make and scale what works. This isn't a role where you sit in the ad accounts all week. Once the channels are running well, we want you to take on more: client-side acquisition, new channels, and building your own tools with AI to do the job faster. What you'll do • Own Google Search, LinkedIn and Meta: structure, budgets, bidding, audiences and day-to-day optimisation. • Launch new campaigns in days, not weeks. Run a steady programme of tests across audiences, formats and landing pages. • Judge channels on what matters to Dex: good candidates and the ones who get put forward to clients. Work with our data to make sure conversion tracking and attribution are right, and push quality signals back into the platforms. • Brief creative. Work with our creative lead, writers and UGC creators on what to make, tell them what's working and kill what isn't. • Open up new channels as we grow, such as YouTube, Performance Max, retargeting and new markets. • Help take paid into client acquisition: getting Dex in front of heads of talent, engineering leaders and founders. • Manage our paid media agency and any contractors, and bring more of the work in-house over time. • Report clearly on spend and results each week, and say plainly what you'd change. Who we're looking for • Hands on in performance marketing, managing real budgets yourself across paid search and paid social. Meta and LinkedIn experience matters most. • You've worked at a tech company, or you're ready for your first in-house role after a couple of years at a strong agency. • You care about what happens after the click. You've optimised for downstream quality, not just cost per lead, and you know how to set up tracking that you trust. • Comfortable with data. You can pull your own numbers, spot when something looks wrong, and explain what's going on without a dashboard doing it for you. • You move fast and like owning things. You'd rather ship a test today than plan it for a week. • You use AI tools daily, and you're happy building small tools, scripts or agents to do your job better. You don't need to be an engineer. Strong nice-to-haves • You've run performance marketing for both
