About the role
Shape capability. Influence performance. Make learning matter.
Capability is about more than learning. It’s about helping people perform at their best. We're looking for a Learning and Capability Partner who can connect business strategy with the capabilities our people need to deliver it.
This isn't a traditional Learning & Development role. You'll become a trusted partner with our commercial leaders, National Sales Managers and In-Field Teams to understand where capability can make the greatest difference, diagnose the real performance need and create practical solutions that translate into stronger leadership, customer engagement and execution.
If you want to build capability that changes what people do, not simply what they know, we'd love to hear from you.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities, performance opportunities and capability gaps, translating enterprise IFT capability priorities into focused business capability plans and solutions.
• Apply and embed enterprise IFT capability frameworks and priorities within the business, partnering with stakeholders to strengthen critical capabilities including insight-led decision making, customer planning, quality customer interactions and execution excellence.
• Own and actively manage the capability plan for assigned business areas, balancing enterprise priorities with specific business needs and providing clear visibility of capability priorities, interventions, progress and impact.
• Strengthen NSMs’ capability to lead, coach and develop their teams, enabling leaders to embed capability development within everyday performance conversations and field coaching.
• Use business insights, performance data and stakeholder input to identify root capability needs and design practical learning interventions that address business challenges rather than defaulting to training.
• Design and deliver engaging, high-impact learning experiences that translate strategy and capability frameworks into practical skills and behaviours that can be applied in-role.
• Support business leaders to embed new capability through leader-led coaching, tools, practice and application before and after learning interventions, ensuring learning translates into sustained behaviour change and stronger execution.
• Define and track meaningful measures for capability initiatives within the broader IFT capability measurement framework, gathering learner and business insights to assess adoption, behaviour change and business impact and continuously improve solutions.
• Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
• Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
• Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
• Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Demonstrated impact in pharmaceutical sales, learning and development, or commercial operations roles, with a clear understanding of in-field team performance and customer engagement
• Ability to build trusted relationships with Business Unit Managers, NSMs and IFTs, translate business strategy into capability priorities, and influence at all levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret business insights, performance data and stakeholder input to diagnose root capability needs and recommend practical solutions
• Demonstrated success in designing, delivering and embedding learning programs that drive sustained behaviour change and improved business outcomes
• Coaching and leadership development capability to strengthen NSMs’ ability to
