US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). About the role
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
At Figma, we're building a vibrant community where designers and product builders come together to learn, grow, and connect around their shared passion. Our Advocacy team is central to this mission—empowering our users through engaging content, meaningful interactions, and genuine advocacy.
We're looking for a Developer Advocate focused on Payload to partner closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Product teams. You'll bring deep design expertise, strong product intuition, and a genuine love for the design and developer community into our go-to-market strategies. You'll also champion our users' voices internally, ensuring their perspectives shape our product evolution.
This is a full-time role that can be held from our New York City or San Francisco hub, or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
• Advocate for Payload : Promote Payload and the Payload + Figma integrations to developers inside and outside Figma.
• Empower Payload connections : Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Experience teams to help customers unlock the full potential of Payload across real product workflows.
• Engage with the Payload community: Triage GitHub issues and community PRs, including labeling, reproducing and routing them, and working with engineering on review and prioritization.
• Create compelling content : Create technical content for Payload + Figma products: tutorials, demos, videos, starter templates and livestreams.
• Inspire community connections : Foster meaningful relationships within the Payload community, identify collaboration opportunities, and nurture user-driven initiatives.
• Speak and engage at events and in co-marketing : Regularly present at industry meetups, conferences, and community events, sharing practical insights from real-world design work.
• Champion user voices : Stay attuned to community feedback, sentiment, and emerging design trends—advocating internally to inform product decisions and improvements.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
• Have deep, hands-on expertise with Payload and experience integrating it within real product teams.
• Are comfortable operating in evolving workflows, including CMS, DAM, design systems, and AI-assisted design or prototyping.
• Are passionate about engaging with and contributing to the design or developer community.
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the enthusiasm and ability to transform early-stage ideas into polished, impactful outcomes
• The flexibility and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to engage with the Payload community in person
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
