About the role
Brixton, London
Hybrid working model (3 days+ in office per week)
Privately-owned companies play a vital role in the UK's economic growth, both locally and nationally. We're already the trusted data provider to central government, universities and local authorities, and public sector demand for high-quality private company intelligence is growing fast. We're looking for a Senior Account Manager to own our most strategic public sector relationships and set how we retain and grow them.
About Beauhurst
We're building the leading provider of private company data and analysis in Europe.
Private companies represent 80% of private sector employment and over 90% of revenues across Europe. They are the engine of innovation and the source of most of the jobs and tax receipts in the economy. Yet for anyone trying to find, track or understand them, the data is a mess: outdated, inconsistent, scattered across thousands of sources, and impossible to verify by hand at any meaningful scale.
We've spent 15 years fixing this. We use custom-built data extraction tools and pipelines, proprietary AI, and a team of 60+ in-house analysts to identify, extract and verify data from thousands of sources, covering 20 million companies, 24 million people, 232,000 transactions, and 1,000+ new news articles a day. Our platform, API, and consultancy services are trusted by our clients to enable them to make better decisions, drive impact, set policy, reduce risk, and save time.
Founded in 2010, we now cover every company in the UK, Germany and Ireland, and work with over 500 organisations across venture capital, major financial institutions, corporates, leading universities, and the Government. And we're not stopping here: we're continuing to scale across Europe.
The Role
We've been supplying data on private companies to public sector organisations for years, helping them set policy, engage businesses and measure economic impact. You'll own a book of some of our most important public sector clients, from government departments and local authorities to universities and innovation bodies.
These accounts work differently from the rest of our book. Contracts often run over several years and involve dozens of stakeholders. Budgets are set on the financial year, value for money has to be proven internally, and contracts usually go back out to procurement when they end. You'll build relationships well ahead of renewal, help clients show the impact Beauhurst has had, know when a renewal needs a business case, a direct award or a tender response, and grow accounts across departments and use cases.
Your job is to win those renewals, grow each account across departments and use cases, and help turn your experience into a playbook the rest of the team can use.
Your day-to-day will include:
• Retaining our public sector clients: owning renewals across your book, planning around budget cycles and procurement timelines, and pitching multi-year agreements where they make sense
• Proving impact: helping clients evidence the value of Beauhurst to their senior leadership and procurement teams
• Growing accounts: finding new teams, departments and use cases to expand into, from economic development and policy to research and innovation teams
• Supporting re-procurement: working on tender responses and framework routes when a contract comes back out to market
• Setting account strategy: working with key decision-makers to understand their priorities and building realistic account plans around them
• Working with Client Experience: partnering with our Client Experience team to ensure every user is trained, active, and getting value
About you
As a minimum, you'll have:
• 2+ years managing your own book of clients, with a track record of exceeding targets for both
