Job Description:
The Role and Impact:
As a GPU Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the functional accuracy, performance, and reliability of Intel's cutting-edge GPUs. You will define, develop, and execute robust validation methodologies to test interactions between GPU features across hardware and software layers. Your work will directly impact the quality and performance of Intel GPUs, enabling seamless integration into diverse systems and driving innovation in graphics and compute technologies.
Business group :
You will be part of Intel's Data Center Group (DCG), which leads the development of technologies that power the world's data-centric infrastructure. This group focuses on shaping the future of cloud computing, AI, and high-performance computing by delivering solutions that advance Intel's leadership in data processing and connectivity. Joining DCG offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking products that support Intel's broader mission of enabling global progress through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute functional validation plans for GPUs, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across hardware and software components.
• Analyze and debug silicon issues to identify root causes, resolve failures, and optimize GPU designs.
• Test and validate system-level interactions between GPU features using advanced validation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and manufacturing teams to refine validation methodologies and processes.
• Review proposed design changes to assess their impact on validation timelines, tasks, and performance goals.
• Design and implement post-silicon validation infrastructure, including behavioral checkers, performance monitors, and coverage tools.
• Publish detailed validation reports summarizing key findings, results, and recommendations.
• Maintain and improve validation strategies to support product specifications and enhance overall GPU functionality.
• Defines, develops, and performs functional validation for GPUs, focusing on validation of interaction of GPUs, media, display and system level features. Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met.
• Reviews proposed design changes to assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
• Develops GPU validation methodologies, executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
• Performs silicon debug to identify root causes and resolves all functional and triage failures for GPU issues. Tests interactions between various GPU features using validation infrastructure.
• Develops post silicon validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing.
• Publishes GPU validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams.
• Works with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces and to meet desired product specifications.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 9+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years, or a Ph.D. with 4+ years working in GPU validation, silicon debugging, or related domains.
• Proficiency in validation tools and techniques, including hardware validation infrastructure and software-based testing methodologies.
• Experience with silicon debug processes, triage failure an
