About the role

Daycare 4 Dogs Full Time, Permanent Based in Sharston Love dogs, enjoy leading people and know how to keep a busy operation running smoothly? We’d love to hear from you. At Daycare 4 Dogs, we’re all about making dogs’ lives better.  Our kennel-free daycare in Sharston gives dogs the freedom to run, play, socialise and relax in carefully managed groups, with fantastic indoor and outdoor spaces and a team who get to know every dog as an individual. But there’s something else that makes our daycare pretty special. Daycare 4 Dogs helps fund the work of Dogs 4 Rescue, so the success of our daycare directly supports rescue dogs who need a second chance. We’re now looking for a practical, organised and people focused Daycare and Facilities Manager to help us keep everything running brilliantly. This isn’t a desk based management role. You’ll be visible, hands on and at the heart of the day to day operation, making sure the team has the structure and support it needs, our customers receive a great service and our facilities are safe, organised and well maintained. What you’ll be doing • Keeping the daycare operation organised, safe and running smoothly. • Leading and supporting the team, setting clear expectations and creating a positive and accountable working environment. • Working with the Dog Team Manager on staffing, rotas and the practical demands of the service. • Making sure bookings, records, administration and key processes are accurate and up to date. • Keeping on top of facilities, maintenance, suppliers, stock and those inevitable day to day issues that need someone to take ownership. • Supporting great communication with our customers and stepping in when issues need management attention. • Making sure health & safety, licensing and other operational requirements are consistently met. • Looking for practical ways to make the daycare run better, rather than simply accepting ‘that’s how we’ve always done it.’ Who we’re looking for You don’t necessarily need to have managed a dog daycare before. What matters most is that you know how to manage people and keep a busy service operation organised. Ideally, you’ll bring: • Experience managing and supporting a team. • Strong operational and organisational skills. • A calm, practical approach and the confidence to deal with problems as they arise. • Good administration skills and attention to detail. • The ability to communicate well with colleagues, customers and suppliers. • An understanding of health & safety and the importance of working within clear standards and procedures. • Knowledge of dog welfare and safe handling practices. Experience within dog daycare, animal welfare, rescue or another busy service environment would definitely be an advantage. Our daycare operates around the needs of the dogs and the service, so flexibility is important. There may be a requirement for some weekend working, as well as occasional early starts and late finishes during the week. Why Daycare 4 Dogs This is a chance to combine your management and operational experience with a role that has genuine purpose. You’ll have the opportunity to make your mark, bring greater structure and consistency to the daycare operation and work alongside people who are passionate about doing the very best for the dogs in our care. If you’re someone who naturally takes ownership, enjoys getting things organised and knows how to bring the best out of a team, we’d really like to hear from you. How to apply Please send us your CV together with a covering letter telling us why you’re interested in joining Dogs 4 Rescue and what you believe you could bring to the role. Apply today and help us make sure our daycare is every bit as brilliant as the dogs who use it.
