About the role

TLDR: We’re looking for top 1%, high agency, AI-forward graduates to join the first graduate cohort at Resonance in Berlin as Applied AI Engineers. We have recently raised one of the largest ever European seed rounds, with investment from Anthropic and Hg Capital, to deploy AI into the economy and rebuild businesses for the AI era. You’ll work at the frontier and solve real problems in an environment that champions ownership, autonomy and innovation at pace. Who we are Resonance is an applied AI company. We have recently raised one of the largest ever European seed rounds, with investment from Anthropic and Hg Capital. Our mission is to close the AI diffusion gap and rebuild businesses for the AI era. We're looking to hire Europe’s elite AI talent, and we're building our Berlin hub to serve clients across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Why now We believe the economic diffusion of AI is the major challenge of the next decade. Foundation models are advancing far faster than organisations can absorb them; the bottleneck is embedding AI deeply into the core processes of a company to drive an inflection in pace and create organisational advantage. Europe is falling behind on AI, and we exist to help its businesses build real, defensible advantage from it rather than simply adopting it. The role As a Graduate Applied AI Engineer in Berlin, you’ll build production AI systems for our clients across DACH from your first month, working alongside Senior Applied AI Engineers who review your code and coach you. You’ll ship agents, integrations, data pipelines and evals, working across the stack from the AI layer to the client’s core systems and the interfaces people use. You’ll sit with the people who do the work today, see how AI changes it, and help client teams run and extend what we build. You’ll also contribute to Resonance’s own AI products and shared platform, take on more ownership as you grow, and help shape how we train, build and grow as one of our first graduate cohort. Your first year: Comprehensive training when you join, covering AI engineering, our platform and how we work with clients. You’ll be on a client team from your first month, in a small team where you know everyone by name, founders included, and work closely with colleagues in London. Nobody expects you to know it all when you start: asking for help early is part of the job, and senior people make time for it. You’ll start as a Junior Engineer and typically become an Engineer within 18–24 months. What we’re looking for: You take the initiative, learn fast and go looking for hard problems. You’re AI-obsessed, trying new models and tools the day they come out. You’re finishing a degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject, such as Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or Mathematics with a strong programming component, or you graduated in one in the last two years, and you can show what you’re capable of through your grades, competitions, internships, societies or things you’ve built. You write good code in Python or TypeScript and have built something with LLMs: a project, a hackathon entry or an open-source contribution. A software engineering internship, ideally at a startup or fast-moving product team, AI side projects or a company you founded are a plus, and so is German for client work in DACH. If you don’t tick every box, apply anyway. What we offer: Competitive total compensation plus equity. Instead of one product at one company, you’ll ship several production AI systems a year across industries, and help build our own AI products and platform. You’ll learn alongside engineers and operators who have embedded AI into 50+ businesses, in a team aiming to be one of the most talent-dense in Europe and worldwide. Europe is falling b
