THE ROLE Join the Pure1 platform engineering team to take ownership of Phonehome.next—our mission-critical, Tier-0 ingest and streaming backbone. Every day, thousands of FlashArray and FlashBlade appliances across the globe stream real-time telemetry and state data through this service directly into the Pure1 cloud platform. Multiple internal product and engineering teams depend on Phonehome.next to power analytics, proactive support, and fleet-wide management. You’ll be building directly for other engineering teams at Everpure. Think of yourself as the guardian of our shared Protobuf contract between the appliances and the cloud: keeping it bulletproof, keeping it backward-compatible, and making sure nothing gets lost along the way. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Own the end-to-end design, reliability, performance, and scaling of Phonehome.next, our Tier-0 telemetry streaming service handling continuous data streams from enterprise appliances worldwide. • Safeguard and evolve the Protobuf data contracts and gRPC APIs bridging physical storage appliances and cloud systems, ensuring strict correctness, high throughput, and seamless backward compatibility. • Act as a technical partner and consultant for internal engineering teams, guiding their architectural integrations, unblocking dependencies, and onboarding new consumers onto the platform. • Design and scale event-driven data streaming pipelines utilizing Kafka, MongoDB, Redis, and a growing Apache Iceberg analytical ecosystem on AWS. • Maintain operational excellence by participating in a balanced on-call rotation (one week in five), running blameless postmortems, and driving systemic fixes directly back into production code. • Drive automated infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native deployments across AWS and Kubernetes using Terraform, maintaining robust CI/CD and observability standards. WHAT YOU BRING • • Extensive experience building, maintaining, and scaling mission-critical, high-throughput distributed systems in production (Tier-0 / 24x7 environments). • Strong programming proficiency in Go (Golang), with a deep understanding of concurrent programming, memory management, and network I/O. • Hands-on expertise with event streaming and caching architectures, specifically Apache Kafka , Redis , and document/NoSQL stores like MongoDB . • Proven experience defining API and data schemas using gRPC and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) with a strong focus on backward compatibility and API versioning. • Solid experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and orchestrating cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform . • Exposure to modern analytical data formats and pipelines (e.g., Apache Iceberg , Parquet, or large-scale data lakes) is a strong plus. • Empathy and communication skills to partner with internal engineering stakeholders, balance operational rigor with developer velocity, and mentor peers through code reviews and blameless postmortems. • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague, Czechia office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave. #LIONSITE WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US: • Innovation : We
