Job Description The Legal Counsel, Privacy & Compliance is responsible for providing legal advice and strategic counsel in support of Allstate Canada Group's Privacy and Compliance Programs. This role serves as a subject matter expert on privacy laws, regulatory requirements, consumer protection obligations, information governance, and emerging legal risks impacting the organization. The Legal Counsel, Privacy & Compliance partners closely with Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, Information Security, Technology, Human Resources, and business leaders to ensure legal obligations are identified, assessed, and effectively incorporated into business processes. The role proactively identifies legal and regulatory developments, advises on privacy and compliance risks, and supports the implementation of programs that strengthen the effectiveness of ACG's regulatory compliance and privacy frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Privacy Legal Advisory • Provide legal advice regarding privacy laws, regulations, and industry requirements applicable to ACG operations. • Advise on the collection, use, disclosure, retention, transfer, and protection of personal information. • Support legal review of privacy impact assessments (PIAs), privacy and AI risk assessments (PAIRs), and new initiatives involving personal information. • Assess legal implications of emerging technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives. • Advise on cross-border data transfers and data-sharing arrangements. Regulatory Compliance Support • Provide legal guidance regarding consumer protection, insurance regulatory requirements, market conduct obligations, and compliance frameworks. • Advise business areas and Compliance partners on regulatory developments and legal interpretations impacting operations. • Support responses to re
