About the role

The purpose of this internship is to support the creation and improvement of technical documentation for innovative energy technologies, including Solid State Transformers (SST), PCS systems, and DC/DC converters. You will work with engineering and solution teams to learn about these technologies and help capture technical knowledge in a structured and easy-to-use format. The resulting documentation will serve as a valuable reference for solution design activities and customer presentations. This role offers hands-on experience in electrical engineering, technical documentation, and emerging energy technologies. Key Responsibilities • Develop technical documentation and engineering guides for Solid State Transformers (SST), PCS systems, DC/DC converters, and solutions. • Analyze technical specifications, design documents, and engineering standards to consolidate knowledge into structured reference materials. • Collaborate with solution managers, solution architects, and engineering teams to validate technical content and ensure accuracy. • Assist in improving and standardizing technical documentation processes, helping to create clear and reusable engineering reference materials for future projects. Must-Have • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related technical field. • Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts and power conversion technologies. • Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and system architecture documentation. • Excellent analytical and technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and structured manner. • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Dutch and/or Chinese language skills are considered an advantage. • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and research. • You are enrolled at the university and available to come to the office for the whole duration of the internship (6 months). Nice to Have • Basic knowledge of power electronics topologies, inverters, PCS systems, DC/DC converters, or medium-voltage systems. • Familiarity with renewable energy, energy storage systems (ESS), or grid integration technologies. • Understanding of electrical standards and safety concepts related to power systems. • Experience with technical documentation, engineering reports, or academic research projects. • Interest in Power electronics and emerging technologies such as Solid State Transformers (SST) and next-generation energy infrastructure.
