About the role
TIRED OF MEETING THE PRODUCT AT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STAGE?
Most product lawyers see the flow once it's built and the launch date is set. Here, you're on the whiteboard at ideation, so compliant by design is the plan, not the clean-up.
And the stakes are real. Taptap Send moves billions of dollars every month across 100 countries, and is now building wallets, cards and broader financial products for diaspora communities.
THE JOB
You'll advise on new licensing and products from first idea to go-live, and own regulator engagement across our markets.
- Shape products before they're built: review designs, UX, flows and terms against regulatory and customer-outcome rules, Consumer Duty included, while change is still cheap.
- Turn regulation into decisions: what's mandatory, what's prudent, and the alternative route that still gets it launched.
- Own the regulator relationship: across our markets, including new ones, and flag what regulatory change means for the roadmap early.
- Take products to new countries: localise what already works, with country leads and local counsel.
- Build the playbooks: templates that let Legal scale without adding friction.
WHY YOU'LL WANT IT
Spend your time on the hard questions. You're asked to shape our roadmap and launches, and understand how to fit them to the relevant regimes
Be a peer, with room to run. You'll join a flat team of regulatory and commercial lawyers, with real autonomy and a manager who trusts you.
Make launches faster, not slower. Legal in the room from day one is how products here ship sooner. That's the whole point of your seat.
Make sending money home cheaper. Remittances pay for school fees, rent and medical bills, and are worth more than all foreign aid combined. Cheaper, reliable transfers put more of that money in families' hands.
IS THIS YOU?
You're a qualified lawyer (UK or equivalent) with 4+ years' PQE in payments, e-money or financial services regulation, at a firm, a regulator or a fintech.
You've advised payments or e-money firms under the FCA or an equivalent regime, dealt with the regulator directly, and helped product teams take live launches over the line.
You give the answer first and the reasoning second. Ambiguity across several jurisdictions doesn't stop you making the call.
If you'd rather be asked first than asked last, apply. Missing a box or two? Send your CV anyway.
