At Databricks, we are passionate about enabling data teams to solve the world's toughest problems — from making the next mode of transportation a reality to accelerating the development of medical breakthroughs. We do this by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform so our customers can use deep data insights to improve their business. Founded by engineers — and customer obsessed — we leap at every opportunity to tackle technical challenges, from designing next-gen UI/UX for interfacing with data to scaling our services and infrastructure across millions of virtual machines. The Impact You Will Have
• Design, build, and operate scalable authorization systems that enforce access control across the Databricks platform
• Own complex technical projects end-to-end, from design through delivery and production operation
• Drive technical decisions and contribute to architectural direction for access management infrastructure
• Improve system reliability, performance, and security for high-throughput, low-latency services
• Collaborate with teams across engineering and product to deliver unified authorization capabilities
• Mentor engineers and elevate team engineering practices
What We Look For
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments
• Experience with one or more programming languages including Java, Scala, C++, or Go
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including concurrency, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with authorization systems, identity management, or security-focused infrastructure
• Ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks and execute root-cause analyses for production issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
