About the team/role: Sr. Product Operations Specialist, P3 (Criminal Data Quality & Supply Chain)
We are seeking a Senior Product Operations Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in strengthening the connection between Product, Operations, and Data teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments and has deep knowledge of the background screening industry and the U.S. Judicial System.
You will drive process improvements, ensure data integrity, and help shape how product and operational strategies align to deliver accurate, high-quality background data to our clients.
In this role, you will own the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the criminal court data Checkr retrieves directly from courts and through third-party vendors. The role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Data, and Compliance.
You’ll be the subject matter expert who can put a court website, a vendor’s output, and our own data side by side, figure out exactly why they differ, and turn that into requirements engineers can build against. Your work directly supports our goal of making in-house court data as complete and accurate as anything a vendor can provide, reducing vendor dependency and fallback costs while protecting accuracy for our customers and their candidates.
What you’ll do
• Partner with Product Managers, Data, and Operations teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability.
• Use analytical insights to track, monitor, and improve data accuracy across multiple systems and data sources.
• Leverage your industry knowledge to optimize workflows related to court data, public records, and other screening data sources.
• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on priorities.
• Proactively identify gaps in data processes, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
• Lead data quality and parity investigations for automated court data sources: sample records, compare our output against vendor data and the court record, and categorize root causes such as missing dispositions, unknown charge types, missing dates of birth, non-criminal case types, and fallback rules firing when they shouldn’t.
• Write clear enhancement requirements, expected-output mock-ups, and compliance considerations for scraper and data pipeline changes, and explicitly call out anything that can’t be solved through automation along with where it should go instead (manual fulfillment, court running, bulk files, or architecture work).
• Validate engineering changes in pre-production testing environments, partner with Supply Chain Strat Ops on audit and parity testing before sources go live, and monitor post-release metrics to confirm improvements actually land.
• Prioritize your workstream using fail rate, fallback, and cost data so engineering capacity goes to the highest-impact jurisdictions first, and hold that line when lower-priority work competes for attention.
• Investigate client accuracy escalations (missed records, incorrect dispositions or sentencing, name matching issues), identify root causes, and turn findings into dat
