Senior Fleet Accountant (m/f/d)

Our rental fleet is at the heart of SIXT, and its accounting is one of our most critical core processes. As Senior Fleet Accountant, based in our Lisbon office, you take on functional ownership of Rental Fleet accounting processes across the SIXT Group. You work at the intersection of Accounting, IT and the business, shaping how fleet accounting evolves through standardization, automation, data analytics and digital transformation.  YOUR ROLE AT SIXT • You take end-to-end functional ownership of fleet accounting processes, from vehicle acquisition and depreciation through transfer, impairment and disposal. You ensure consistent, compliant and high-quality accounting in line with SIXT Group accounting policies and applicable accounting standards. • You support month-end and year-end closing activities, oversee relevant reconciliations and balance sheet reviews, and investigate differences between operational fleet data, source systems and the general ledger. • You define and maintain accounting guidelines, process documentation and internal controls for fleet accounting, ensuring transparency, auditability and consistent application across entities. • You work closely with Vehicle Purchasing, Remarketing, Fleet Controlling, local accounting teams and other stakeholders to align processes, resolve complex accounting questions and support sound business decisions. • You represent Fleet Accounting in vehicle-related transformation projects, including the migration from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA. You translate accounting requirements into future processes, controls and system specifications, support testing and help ensure successful implementation. • You continuously develop, standardize and optimize fleet accounting processes across entities, using data analytics, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, scalability and data quality. • You bring together Accounting, business and technology stakeholders, drive decisions and support the consistent implementation of agreed standards and target processes across entities. YOUR SKILLS MATTER • Accounting Expertise  You have a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a comparable field, or an equivalent professional qualification, combined with several years of relevant hands-on accounting experience. Experience in fleet accounting, fixed assets, asset-intensive businesses or an international corporate environment is an advantage. • Systems & Data  You have hands-on experience with SAP FI, Asset Accounting or comparable ERP environments is highly desirable. Exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformation projects is an advantage. You are comfortable working with large datasets; knowledge of SQL and data-analysis environments such as Amazon Athena or Amazon Redshift is beneficial. • Analytical Mindset​​​​​​​  You work in a structured, curious and solution-oriented manner. You are able to identify root causes, challenge existing processes and translate complex accounting requirements into practical and scalable solutions. • Collaboration & Communication  You can explain complex topics clearly and work effectively with stakeholders across functions, entities and countries. You are comfortable driving alignment and influencing decisions without relying on formal authority.  • Languages  Fluency in English is essential. Additional languages, particularly German or French, are an advantage.
