About the role
Who we are
ADC is a boutique data and AI consultancy with offices in the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark, and an award-winning data design studio (CLEVER°FRANKE) embedded in the group. We help organisations turn data and AI into real impact, leading a mission to accelerate the responsible use of data and AI. We bring the full data value chain under one roof: from strategy and engineering to analytics, data science and design. This way, we turn complex data into clear roadmaps, scalable foundations, AI-powered tools, and experiences people actually enjoy using.
Freelance Data & AI Engineering opportunities
Are you a freelancer interested in applying your data, engineering, cloud or AI expertise to real business challenges? We are always looking for talented freelance professionals to join the project teams driving this work forward.
How this connects to our current work
Our teams are actively working across the following areas:
• Data engineering: designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines that turn complex, high-volume datasets into reliable, production-ready foundations for analytics, models and AI.
• Data and AI in regulated environments: building solutions where data quality, traceability and reproducibility are essential, helping clients upgrade their data infrastructure and stay audit-ready.
• Credit risk analytics: supporting model development and validation for frameworks such as IRB and IFRS 9, and connecting regulatory risk models to strategic business outcomes.
• Generative AI and agentic systems: developing custom AI systems such as agentic workflows, RAG-based systems and domain-specific AI assistants.
• MLOps and model monitoring: building end-to-end AI pipelines and monitoring frameworks that keep models performing at their best, managing drift and retraining needs.
We build these solutions with technologies such as Python and Docker, on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
What you bring
We’re not just consultants: we’re leading experts in Data & AI, using our expertise in AI, Data, Cloud Engineering and Financial Risk Management. What unites us is a shared way of working: breaking down complex challenges to change how organisations operate. We don’t expect you to have everything on this list. What matters is where you can add value now and where you want to grow.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering or data science, ideally gained in consulting or project-based work
• A quantitative academic background , such as AI, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or a related field
• Hands-on experience with Python and at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• A strong grasp of the modern GenAI landscape (LLMs, RAG, embeddings and vector search, tool/function calling, agentic patterns, and protocols like MCP) and the judgement to know when to apply each
• Experience with, or interest in, financial services and its regulatory context
• The ability to communicate with anyone in the room , explaining complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• A collaborative spirit: you believe the best solutions come from diverse perspectives and supporting each other to raise the bar
• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
What’s in it for you
At ADC, we value our freelance partners as true extensions of our collective. We bring you on board for your expertise, giving you the space to deliver exceptional work on projects that matter. That means:
• Impact you can point to: you’ll see your work in action, directly shaping how our clients build, run and rely on their data and AI solutions.
• The freedom to innovate: we bring you in for your expertise. You’ll have the autonomy to recommend
