About the role

Job Details: Job Description: At Intel, we create world-changing technology that enriches the lives of every person on Earth. For more than 50 years, Intel innovations have powered the computing breakthroughs that shape how people live, work, and connect. The Physical AI, Client and Edge (PACE) organization within the Client Computing & Physical AI Group (CCPG) is driving the next wave of intelligent computing by bringing Artificial Intelligence closer to where data is created and decisions are made. From intelligent edge devices and robotics to autonomous systems and AI-enabled industrial solutions, PACE develops technologies that enable the future of Physical AI. As part of this mission, the Firmware & Functional Safety Technologies (FFST) organization develops critical platform firmware technologies that power Intel's next-generation products. Firmware is where hardware and software come together, enabling silicon features, platform reliability, security, performance, and functional safety capabilities.   As a Graduate Talent in the Boot Firmware Engineering (BFE) team, you will work alongside experienced firmware engineers to develop and validate low-level platform firmware for Intel reference platforms. You will gain hands-on experience in platform initialization, silicon enablement, system debugging, firmware automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows while contributing to technologies that power millions of computing devices worldwide. What You Will Do • Develop, integrate, and validate boot firmware components for Intel client and edge computing platforms. • Participate in firmware architecture discussions, feature design reviews, and requirement definition activities. • Design and execute unit tests, integration tests, and platform validation methodologies to ensure robust firmware quality. • Investigate, debug, and root-cause hardware, firmware, and system-level issues using industry-standard debugging tools and methodologies. • Develop automation scripts and engineering tools to improve development efficiency, test coverage, and product quality. • Collaborate closely with silicon architects, hardware designers, software engineers, validation teams, and platform integrators across Intel's global engineering network. • Apply Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions to accelerate code development, debugging, validation, knowledge discovery, test creation, and engineering productivity. • Explore new approaches to AI-powered firmware engineering by leveraging autonomous AI agents, intelligent workflow automation, and large language models (LLMs).   Qualifications: We are seeking passionate graduates who enjoy understanding how systems work from silicon to software and are excited to build the technologies behind tomorrow's intelligent devices. Successful candidates often demonstrate a strong curiosity for both hardware and software and enjoy building things beyond academic coursework. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: • Computer Engineering • Electrical & Electronic Engineering • Computer Science • Embedded Systems • Mechatronics • Robotics • Related engineering disciplines • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: • C • C++ • Python • Understanding of computer architecture, embedded systems, operating systems, and software development fundamentals. • Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Passion for learning emerging technologies and solving challenging technical problems. Preferred Qualifications Candidates will have an advantage if they possess hands-on experience through personal projects, hackathons, internships, university projects, or open-source contribution
