Details and sources
- No salary bar for this route
- Canada has no single salary bar: the employer usually needs a positive LMIA. Pay at or above the provincial median wage + 20% (e.g. C$36.92/h in Ontario) puts it in the high-wage stream. At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.
Instacart has become a lifeline for millions of people, and we’re building the team to help push our shopping cart forward. If you’re ready to do the best work of your life, come join our table.
Instacart is a Flex First team
There’s no one-size fits all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.
Why this role is on the menu
Every Instacart employee on a work visa relies on timely, accurate immigration guidance to maintain status and travel with confidence. We are building a more resilient program: a white glove experience backed by a best-in-class external immigration partner and a clearly owned internal function. As our Senior Immigration & Global Mobility Specialist, you will own the vendor relationship, partner closely with our Employment Legal team, and shift Tier 1 support to our vendor and a contingent worker, freeing you to focus on the complex cases and high-stakes moments that matter most. Twelve months from now, employees will have a smoother, more self-service immigration experience, and the program will run on documented process instead of institutional memory.
The secret ingredients we're looking for
You are a hands-on immigration expert who is equally comfortable owning a vendor relationship and rolling up your sleeves on a case. You thrive on a very small team, work independently, and know exactly where and when to escalate. You are curious, willing to stretch into new territory, and good at turning constraints into opportunities. You can explain nuanced immigration issues clearly to employees, managers, and directors, and you handle sensitive matters with care and urgency.
