If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us! Figma's Product Legal team is growing! We are seeking a proactive, business-minded Senior Product Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will act as a primary legal partner for our Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE) teams, helping them navigate novel, complex legal questions as our product releases accelerate. We are looking for a strategic thinker with an ownership mentality who can help us build a practical, forward-looking approach to risk management. You'll report to the Director, Product Legal, and play a pivotal role in shaping how we scale legal guidance across the organization. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. What you’ll do at Figma: • Partner directly with Figma's Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to provide practical legal guidance on product development and go-to-market strategy • Review product user experiences, disclosures, and external marketing and communications materials to mitigate legal risk while helping our teams achieve their goals • Partner with cross-functional Legal teams (Commercial, IP, Regulatory) to ensure cohesive strategy and support • Advise on legal issues relating to data protection, privacy, consumer protection, IP, and evolving AI-specific laws and regulations • Develop and build out the processes, resources, and scaffolding needed to help our team scale our legal guidance as our product releases accelerate • Identify and communicate emerging legal risks early in the product development cycle to enable faster, more confident decision-making We'd love to hear from you if you have: • In-depth experience counseling on legal issues relating to technology, IP, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and AI • Proven ownership mentality, including hands-on engagement with product details, process-building from scratch, and independent prioritization • A business-first, solution-oriented approach, including comfort making independent decisions and taking smart risks with imperfect information • Demonstrated interest in AI and experience advising on AI-powered products or platforms • You have 8+ years of legal experience & J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) and is U.S.-qualified While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have: • Experience working in-house at a SaaS company • Familiarity with using and advising on ML/AI products • A technical background is a huge plus At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go.
