Role and Team As an ADESA General Sales Manager, you will be a true sales leader and business developer. You will lead by example, generate new business, close deals, grow the auction’s buyer and seller base, and develop a high performing sales team to achieve and exceed expectations. General Sales Managers should have a strong understanding of the sales process, sales metrics, customer relationships, and compensation while being comfortable working both in the market and within the auction. The General Sales Manager typically leads a team of Inside Sales Representatives and Outside Sales Representatives. The GSM partners closely with the Outside Sales team to identify and develop new Independent and Franchise Dealer relationships, increase consignment opportunities, and bring additional inventory into ADESA’s physical auction lanes and digital platforms. The GSM is also responsible for helping grow the auction’s buyer base by partnering with the sales team to identify potential buyers, introducing dealers to ADESA Clear and other digital solutions, and communicating with buyers about available inventory and upcoming consignment opportunities. The GSM should be actively engaged with both buyers and sellers to understand their needs and create opportunities that drive overall auction growth. A committed General Sales Manager is dedicated to recruiting, retaining, coaching, and developing Sales Representatives. General Sales Managers execute the overall sales strategy, establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and inspire their teams to achieve sales and business objectives. You will contribute to the growth and success of ADESA in an innovative and fast paced environment as a valued leader within the ADESA community.
