About the role
Become a part of our caring community The IT Procurement Lead establishes and executes sourcing and supplier strategies for enterprise technology products and services. You will lead complex procurement initiatives and help ensure technology investments align with business priorities, IT strategy, risk requirements, and long-term value objectives. The IT Procurement team partners across Technology, business segments, Finance, Legal, Risk, Privacy, Security, and other functions. They develop category strategies, manage sourcing activity, strengthen supplier performance, and improve visibility into technology spend and contractual commitments. The team delivers value through competitive sourcing, demand management, commercial optimization, risk mitigation, supplier consolidation, and effective contract lifecycle management. As the IT Procurement Lead (Senior Category Manager), you will own category strategies and sourcing plans. You will also lead supplier selection and negotiations, support contract implementation, and manage strategic supplier relationships across a healthcare technology portfolio. The portfolio may include solutions supporting clinical and operational workflows, patient engagement, revenue cycle, telehealth, claims, compliance, interoperability, and healthcare data and analytics. Deep experience in every healthcare category is not expected; success requires relevant healthcare technology experience or strongly transferable experience from a similarly complex, highly regulated industry. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders, translating business needs into practical sourcing strategies and commercially sound agreements. The IT Procurement Lead evaluates markets and suppliers, develops fact-based recommendations, negotiates complex software and technology-enabled services agreements, and balances cost, value, quality, innovation, implementation needs, and risk. You will operate with significant independence, manage multiple high-visibility initiatives, and use data and judgment to make recommendations in complex or ambiguous situations. Job Responsibilities • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies and sourcing pipelines informed by business priorities, market intelligence, spend, supplier capabilities, risk, and total cost of ownership. • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including requirements development, market assessment, competitive events, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and implementation support. • Negotiate complex software, SaaS, cloud, data, and technology-enabled services agreements, including pricing and licensing models, service levels, implementation terms, data rights, and renewal protections. • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders, translating business needs into sourcing strategies and advising on market dynamics, supplier options, commercial risk, and trade-offs. • Partner with Legal, Finance, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement Operations, and other stakeholders to support timely decisions and improve the stakeholder and supplier experience. • Evaluate and manage strategic suppliers across the contract lifecycle, including capabilities, financial health, strategic fit, delivery, innovation, security, regulatory considerations, performance, commitments, renewals, and risk. • Deliver measurable value through cost optimization, demand management, supplier consolidation, contractual protections, process improvement, and supplier-enabled innovation. • Develop financial analyses, business cases, negotiation strategies, savings forecasts, and executive-ready recommendations while monitoring healthcare technology and supplier-market trends
