About the role
Job title: Master Data Expert Job Purpose • Ensure high-quality, accurate, and compliant master data across systems and business processes • Act as the functional expert for Master Data Management, supporting data governance, data quality, and process standardization initiatives • Provide expert guidance to business stakeholders, data owners, and operational teams on master data-related topics Key Accountabilities : Master Data Governance & Quality • Ensure compliance with master data standards, governance policies, and business rules • Monitor and recommend data quality rules based on recurring data issues and business requirements • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for master data quality issues • Review and validate complex master data requests and ensure data accuracy and completeness • Support creation, modification, enrichment, and deactivation of master data according to established procedures • Coordinate data collection activities and support end-to-end master data maintenance processes • Support mass maintenance, cleansing activities, data migrations, and system enhancements Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Material Master and related master data domains • Partner with Business Process Owners, System Owners, Site Teams, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality stakeholders • Provide expert guidance on master data requirements, governance standards, and business impacts • Support audits and compliance activities by providing master data expertise and documentation Continuous Improvement & Innovation • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance, process efficiency, and user experience • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities • Participate in master data transformation projects, process harmonization initiatives, and system implementations • Recommend best practices and innovative solutions to improve master data effectiveness • Support KPI development, scorecards, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms Knowledge Management & Capability Building • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and governance standards • Support training and education programs for the master data community and business users • Act as a knowledge resource for complex master data issues and process-related queries • Share best practices and lessons learned across business units and sites • Support system testing activities including UAT, validation, and process verification About You : Experience • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Master Data Management • Strong understanding of Material Master processes and data governance principles • Experience working within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or supply chain environment • Background in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, or related disciplines is preferred Technical Skills • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC 6.0 and/or SAP S/4HANA • Strong knowledge of SAP MM and SAP MDG modules • Experience with data quality tools, reporting, and dashboard solutions • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills Competencies • Ability to influence stakeholders through expertise and credibility • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence. • Ability to work independently and manage complex issues. • Strong learning agility and willingness to embrace change. • Customer-focused and committed to delivering business value. • Takes ownership and proactively drives solutions.
