We are seeking Technical Program Managers who are passionate about marrying technology with business strategy to join our team. As a Technical Program Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving major technical transformations and scaling platform capabilities across Capital One. ​​Enterprise Platforms Technology ( EPTech ) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We establish practices for building technology solutions across the company and deliver capabilities that exemplify those practices.   As a Director TPM in EPTech, you will leverage your technical acumen and engineering experience to drive the strategy and execution of large-scale, technically complex, cross-functional programs aligned with Capital One’s business priorities. You’ll break down complexity and organizational silos, influence roadmaps, dive deep into system design and architecture, make technical tradeoffs, drive platform consolidation, and identify, resolve, define, and escalate mitigation plans for hard technical dependencies. What You’ll Do: As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM), we’re looking for someone that can help us lead programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large scale products & platforms that will help Capital One customers have incredible experiences.  In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve. • Contribute to the organization’s TPM / Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios • Drive development of and alignment on program roadmap anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and sequencing of dependencies • Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse • Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks, influencing technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost and resiliency • Ensure definition of measurable outcomes of platform success (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, developer velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a technical field • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs Preferred Qualifications: • 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing  or service oriented architecture (SOA) • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS • 3+ years experience building highly scalable products & platforms • 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery • 3+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you contribute to the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact • Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) • PMP, Lean,
