JOB DESCRIPTION: The Opportunity: This position works out of our Austin, TX location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. The individual contributor will design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture, installation and operation of equipment, machines and systems for the generation, distribution, use and control of electric power. Will have a comprehensive knowledge in component testing with the ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects. Will need to adapt to precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions. What you will do: • Leads electrical engineering operations within own job area to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and as per the set goals. • Handles complex projects for scaling new suppliers and expanding and/or modifying the production lines. • Study the characteristics of all possible equipment available and suggest to management acquiring the most appropriate equipment for carrying out the operations. • May coach junior colleagues and allocate the project work to the most advisable contractors. • Independently lead projects to identify, plan and execute small to large-size projects across multiple different manufacturing sites globally. • Participates in Design review & design for manufacturer of new devices. • Owns & builds relationship with component suppliers to ensure robust manufacturing process and quality controls are in-place at suppliers. • Provides critical SME support on resolving complex issues within manufacturing. • Coordinate and provide updates to senior management teams on critical business projects Required Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with at least 6+ years of experience, master’s degree is preferred. • Prior experience in manufacturing & qualification of IC based chips within semi-conductor manufacturing environment. • Experience in working with multiple manufacturing modalities. • Experience in working in front-end and back-end wafer manufacturing processes. • Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers. • Understand the business needs of the company and have a thorough understanding of customer needs as they relate to projects. • Previous experience in leading projects across a cross functional team. • Ability to work independently and in groups; ability to work cross-functionally. • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical-thinking skills. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Ability to quickly gain knowledge, understanding or skills and is willing to learn. • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA and ISO regulated environment The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00 In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.       JOB FAMILY: Engineering DIVISION: ADC Diabetes Care LOCATION: United States > Texas > Austin : 12501B Research Boulevard ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS: WORK SHIFT: Standard TRAVEL: Yes, 25 % of the Time MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE: Not Applicable SIGNIFICANT WORK ACTIVITIES: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day) Abbott
