A Day in the Life The Medical Surgical Operating Unit delivers technologies and services that support surgeons, clinical teams, and healthcare systems across a broad range of surgical specialties. Through exposure to Core Surgical, Gynecology, and Hernia portfolios, this role provides foundational sales and clinical experience while supporting customer adoption of surgical solutions that improve procedural efficiency and patient outcomes. This is a field-based remote position supporting the Chicago, Illinois territory. The individual hired must reside within the assigned territory and travel to customer accounts throughout the region. Travel of up to 75% is required, and a valid driver's license is necessary to perform the responsibilities of the role. The position includes participation in an 18-month rotational training program with exposure to sales leadership, clinical education, customer engagement, and business initiatives. The Field STEP Sales Representative participates in an 18-month rotational development program designed to build clinical, technical, and commercial expertise within the Medical Surgical business. This role provides hands-on experience supporting customer accounts, learning product applications, participating in clinical and sales training, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support business objectives throughout the assigned territory. Primary Responsibilities • Support clinical procedures and provide product support in operating room environments. • Develop clinical and technical knowledge across Core Surgical, Gynecology, and Hernia product portfolios. • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and existing customer accounts. • Assist with sales activities, territory planning, and strategic product conversion initiatives. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects and business priorities. • Analyze business and territory data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements. • Participate in project reviews and implement process improvement recommendations. • Engage with sales leadership and healthcare stakeholders to gain exposure to hospital structures and decision-making processes. Required Qualifications • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years OR Associate's Degree and 2+ years OR Bachelor's Degree in sales, clinical, medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or related experience. • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3. • Ability to relocate within the United States. • Ability to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory and maintain a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications • 1-3 years of sales experience. • Experience in healthcare, medical technology, or other technical environments. • Ability to learn and apply complex clinical and technical concepts. • Leadership experience through work, volunteer organizations, student organizations, athletics, or community involvement. • Project, internship, or rotational program experience supporting business or customer-focused initiatives.
