Your Opportunity This is more than just a job; it is a mission. As a Cloud Engineer within our Infrastructure Team, you will play a critical role in supporting customers as they refactor, replatform and rehost mission-critical systems into AWS and hybrid cloud environments. Your work will directly contribute to improving system reliability, reducing operational costs, and enabling greater organisational agility across national security programmes. You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers and architects to design and deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges, working across both cloud and on-premise environments using modern Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices. “Life as a Cloud Engineer is an exceptionally rewarding role where no two days are truly the same. This variety helps the role feel fresh, and I always finish each day feeling like I’ve learnt something new.” Kris, Principal Cloud Solutions Architect, Northrop Grumman UK Your Responsibilities • Design, build and implement AWS and hybrid cloud solutions aligned to customer requirements • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scalable, secure infrastructure architectures • Administer and optimise Linux and Windows-based systems in enterprise environments • Design and troubleshoot IP networking solutions including AWS networking and hybrid connectivity • Automate deployment, configuration and maintenance processes using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling • Contribute to continuous improvement through DevSecOps practices and innovation Your Experience • Proven experience in IT systems design, deployment and administration, including leadership responsibilities • AWS certification at Associate level with hands-on experience delivering cloud-based solutions • Strong expertise in Linux and Windows system administration within large-scale environments • Solid understanding of IPv4 networking including subnetting, routing (OSPF), VLANs and VPNs • Experience automating tasks using tools such as Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every requirement.
