Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Energetics Engineer (level 4) or Principal (Level 3) to join our Rocket Motor Nozzle Manufacturing team. This position will be located at our facility located in Promontory, Utah . Role Description & Responsibilities: • Able to demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations • Developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes • Supporting manufacturing operations, to include composites manufacturing, machining, rubber layup and molding, chemical bonding, primers and coatings, and complex assemblies • Performing cause and corrective action investigations to permanently eliminate defects using root cause analysis tools • Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents) • Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and to the customers for review and approval • Performing table top reviews • Monitoring production events and utilizing SPC tools to ensure process control • Developing and incorporating process improvements • Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions • Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment Skills & Qualifications • Self-Starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision • Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills • Good organization and multi-tasking skills • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques • Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Interpreting blueprints and specifications, GD&T standards • Experience writing shop planning (preferred) • Experience with 3D modeling software • Experience working with rubbers, metals, and composite materials (preferred) • Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills • Statistical Process Controls (SPC) This position can be filled either as a Sr. Principal (Level 4) or Principal (Level 3) Basic Qualifications Level 3: • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree with 5 years’ experience /or 3 years of experience with a master's degree. • Experience leading a team or project • Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Experience writing electronic shop instructions • Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security Clearance Basic Qualifications Level 4: • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree with 8 years’ experience /or 6 years of experience with a master's degree. • Experience leading a team or project • Basic Computer skills (Word, E
