- No salary bar for this routeH-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join: UX Writing is a core design discipline at Airbnb. Our team of 40+ writers works closely with Experience Design, Experience Research, Engineering, and Design Program Management to support the product development process from beginning to end. Whether you excel in upfront storytelling, end-to-end systems design, or nitty-gritty execution, you'll find your people here. The Difference You Will Make: From concept to launch, our UX writers create industry-leading experiences for guests and hosts that meaningfully impact the success of the company. In this role, you'll shape how AI-powered, generative surfaces speak to hosts and you'll build the systems that keep that voice consistent as models change. You'll help set the standard for how our team partners with Engineering to define the ideal experience, evaluate generated output, and iterate to improve the product, and you'll bring the rest of UX Writing along with you. A Typical Day: • Lead all work related to the words across multiple projects within a single initiative—this includes both creating clear, concise, and delightful copy for your product surface yourself on some surfaces, and training large language models that ultimately create the copy on others • Develop inspiring, strategic ideas based on product requirements, data, and/or research • Set the quality bar for AI-generated content: write the guidelines and examples, grade and rank model outputs, and calibrate VJs • Drive consensus with stakeholders and/or partners on content recommendations • Manage copy deadlines and deliver detailed copy across multiple projects • Connect with our critical cross-functional partners including Design, PM, Legal, accessibility, and localization to ensure we have the proper input on our work • Join writing team crits to present work and help sharpen the work of your teammates • Present content and design work to directors, executives, or other stakeholders on your projects • Set the bar on every surface with judgment and taste Your Expertise: • 10+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy • Proven ability to lead content/copy work from concept to detailed design • Experience in LLM prompting, generative AI, and model evaluation, with a point of view on training writing quality into a model • Proven systems thinking and product strategy • Experience building systems—guidelines, reference examples, evals—that scale across a team • Experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides, and adapting them into guidelines a model can be trained and evaluated against • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in all stages of design and build • Proven ability to lead systems work from concept to detailed design, including defining net-new process where none exists • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with the flexibility to adjust course as models and priorities shift • Familiar working alongside other design disciplines in Figma, our primary collaboration tool • Experience working with and presenting to executive teams • Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns • Passion for Airbnb's mission, commitment to diversity, and global mindset Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible.
