The Planned Pricing team sits within Lyft's Marketplace org and is responsible for forecasting, planning, and setting prices ahead of demand — ensuring pricing strategy is proactive rather than purely reactive. We partner closely with Product & Science to design and implement pricing strategies that anticipate market conditions, balancing the needs of riders, drivers, and business goals. As an owner of a flow that shapes forecasting and long-term pricing decisions across the company, you'll tackle a wide range of problems — from large-scale distributed systems and data pipelines to experimentation and forecasting accuracy. If you're excited about playing a key role in demand/supply planning and improving the Lyft experience for millions of riders and drivers, this could be a great fit. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate and maintain existing or new elements of our systems and infrastructure • Collaborate with engineers and partners in science & product to drive projects from inception, specification, execution, to launch • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable and maintainable code • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge • Design and own the way pricing data is consumed, stored, and shared with the entirety of Lyft • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices • Utilize your expertise in Python, Golang, AWS to deliver robust and scalable solutions Experience: • 1 - 3 years of software engineering industry experience • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience • Extensive experience in object-oriented programming (ideally Python or Go) • Write clear, scalable and clear design documentation • Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners Benefits: • Extended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits • Mental health benefits • Family building benefits • Child care and pet benefits • Access to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account • RRSP plan with company match to help save for your future • In addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy.
