Northrop Grumman’s Legal and Contracts Department has a unique opportunity for a senior attorney to join its global Litigation team. This attorney will report to the Assistant General Counsel and Director, Litigation, located at the Company’s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. We seek an experienced, highly motivated attorney to lead and drive strategy on a wide variety of commercial and government disputes and litigation matters relating to class action, contract, environmental, tort, intellectual property, ERISA, employment, and other claims. The ideal candidate is excited to work on a broad range of subject areas, brings sound judgment and strong litigation instincts, and maintains a high level of intellectual curiosity. By joining Northrop Grumman’s Litigation team, you will play a key role in safeguarding the Company’s ability to advance cutting-edge technologies and critical national security missions. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Leading complex, significant litigation and disputes matters, including responsibility for overall case strategy and supervision of outside counsel • Proactively assessing, managing, and mitigating risk across an active docket • Partnering and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to provide practical legal advice and to develop and recommend corrective actions • Briefing senior management on matters involving significant legal exposure or risk to the Company • Developing and managing legal budgets Basic Qualifications: • Juris Doctor degree • Ability to become a member of the Virginia Bar or licensed Virginia corporate counsel • At least eight years of litigation experience, with more experience preferred • Experience litigating complex commercial matters • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing litigation strategy • Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, risk assessment and negotiation skills • Strong work ethic and collaborative, team-oriented approach • Highest standards of integrity and professionalism • Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance Preferred Qualifications: • Significant trial and appellate experience • Experience supporting clients in the defense or aerospace community Primary Level Salary Range: $233,300.00 - $335,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
