About the role

Team description The Order Taking squad owns core ordering experiences within SumUp’s Point of Sale app, including the shopping bag, checkout, the catalog experience within ordering, open orders, table management and printer integrations. These capabilities help thousands of hospitality merchants manage orders reliably during daily service. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you’ll build new hospitality workflows and evolve established ordering experiences across iOS and Android. You’ll work with SwiftUI on the platform-specific UI and contribute to shared Kotlin Multiplatform business logic. The role involves complex mobile engineering across multi-device synchronisation, shared order state and a large, established application. You’ll join a small, experienced and fast-moving squad that works collaboratively through technical refinement, code reviews and pair programming. The team values engineers who communicate directly, challenge assumptions and proactively shape solutions rather than simply execute predefined tasks. What you'll do • Design and build new ordering experiences in SwiftUI, while evolving established capabilities such as table management, kitchen workflows and printer integrations • Contribute to shared Kotlin Multiplatform business logic and help shape the architecture of the ordering domain • Improve the reliability and usability of ordering features used daily by hospitality merchants across phones, tablets and POS devices • Collaborate closely with Android engineers and platform teams to maintain consistent cross-platform behaviour and reliable multi-device order synchronisation • Take part in code reviews, pair programming and collaborative testing to maintain a high quality bar • Help refine and scope upcoming work, bringing technical judgement to product and architectural trade-offs • Contribute to Mobile Chapter and KMP platform initiatives across the wider POS tribe You'll be great for this role if... • 5+ years of experience building production iOS applications in Swift, with strong SwiftUI knowledge • Experience working in a large, established codebase and making pragmatic improvements without requiring a full rewrite • Openness to learning and contributing to Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform; previous hands-on KMP experience is welcome but not required • Ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, propose solutions proactively and communicate clearly and directly • Experience collaborating closely with Android engineers or other cross-platform partners to align product behaviour • Sound technical judgement and the ability to balance product delivery, code quality and long-term maintainability Why you should join SumUp 🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our Paris location. This involves an office-first setup 🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced 🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success 📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget of €2000 for your individual development, which can be used to attend conferences and/or advance your career through further education 💼 Financial security: corporate pension contributions that support your long-term future 🏥 Healthcare support: we cover 50% of the monthly cost of your health insurance for your Mutuelle and Prévoyance 🚌 Extra allowances: we offer restaurant tickets (Swile) and cover transportation costs 🌴 Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service 🔗 Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team About SumUp Be empowered to do more that matters
