About the role
Team description Our Risk & Fraud team sits at the heart of keeping SumUp safe for millions of small businesses, spotting suspicious transactions and stopping fraud before it causes real harm. As a Risk and Anti-Fraud Analyst, you'll monitor transactions and merchant activity, follow up on fraud notifications from acquirers, and help protect both our customers and SumUp from financial and reputational loss. You'll get hands on experience with the tools, patterns, and techniques used to catch fraud in a fast moving payments environment, building a skillset that's genuinely in demand and setting you up for a long term career in fraud prevention. What you'll do: • Monitor transactions and merchant activity to spot and flag suspicious behaviour • Review and action fraud related notifications received from acquirers • Investigate individual cases, applying fraud prevention and detection techniques to decide next steps • Respond to requests for information from internal teams and external partners • Keep up to date with AML, fraud, and industry standards so your decisions reflect current best practice You'll be great for this role if… • Comfortable using Word, Excel, and basic data manipulation day to day • Some understanding of the payment cycle and different payment methods • Curiosity about anti-fraud work, including how rules and models are used to flag and review cases • Strong attention to detail, with a habit of double checking your own work • Ability to manage time well and stay organised when tasks are time sensitive Why you should join SumUp: • 🌍 You’ll play a key role in a scale-up that in turn is part of a truly global team of 3000+ people from 60+ countries, spread across 4 continents. • 🚀 You'll have the opportunity to make an impact irrespective of your job description.
