That’s why our team is looking to add a Director of Intelligence & Travel Safety. The Director of Intelligence & Travel Safety is responsible for establishing the vision, strategy, and priorities for identifying and assessing threats, delivering actionable intelligence, and protecting employees traveling on behalf of the company. The Director oversees a multidisciplinary team of intelligence and travel risk management professionals and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on geopolitical, security, and travel-related risks. This leader ensures intelligence and travel safety capabilities, anticipates evolving threats, informs business decisions, and operates as integrated components of Capital One’s broader security and risk management strategy.  The Ideal Candidate Should • Proactively set the tone and culture for the team by leading with purpose, fostering a culture of psychological safety where every team member can thrive and contribute to our shared mission • Own and demonstrate Capital One values and integrate them into both own and team’s work products and communications • Lead and motivate high performing teams in a 24/7 operational setting • Effectively make complex decisions that have broad impact • Draw on experience/knowledge of other business areas to drive strategic analyses and decisions • Anticipate and mitigate risks • Tailor messages to support specific outcomes; pushing back when appropriate - explaining issues and implications clearly with the appropriate level of urgency and engagement • Be open and accessible, building understanding and agreement among diverse groups.  Champion and build support for ideas through consensus building. • Set objectives independently and effectively manage multiple priorities with some guidance through teams or partners, effectively communicating progress towards results • Own group results, skillfully manages projects, and proactively make offers • Drive team agenda, ensure all voices are heard, coordinate business resources to meet team goals, build very productive relationships; operate effectively in a matrix environment without solely relying on one's positional or hierarchical authority • Guide the department to solve the “right” problems.
