About the team The Revenue and Financial Automation (RFA) team at Stripe is building a modern, revenue-focused, financial management platform for fast growing, digital native companies. Hundreds of thousands of businesses of all sizes and types use Stripe Billing to collect revenue for recurring and one-time payments across a variety of different pricing models—from selling SaaS subscriptions, to orchestrating multi-stage contracts, providing recovery and retention tools to prevent customer churn,—and with the acquisition of Metronome, delivering Usage-Based Billing. Within this group, our team’s mission is to make Stripe and Metronome feel like one product, so merchants can bill for subscriptions and usage in a single, seamless experience. What you’ll do We’re looking for Full Stack engineers who are interested in building software services and platforms that impact thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users, regardless of whether they’re an end user, developer, or partner. Responsibilities • Scope, architect, and lead technical projects to improve on existing features and solve new problems • Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack • Design, build, and maintain user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systems • Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation • Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps • Partner with engineers and product managers on infrastructure and other product teams to ensure your features are part of an integrated Stripe suite • Establish and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and technical design Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum requirements • 2-5+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships nor includes co-ops) • Strong coding skills in any programming language (we understand new languages can be learned on the job so our interview process is language agnostic) • Strong collaboration skills, can work across workstreams within your team and contribute to your peers’ success • Have the ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy, responsibility, and think of yourself as entrepreneurial • Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight both internal and external users • Strong AI adoption skills, proactively experiments with AI tools, adapts inefficient manual habits, and actively innovates to enhance performance Preferred qualifications • 2+ years of software development experience, with an emphasis on modern frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/TypeScript/React) and building delightful user interfaces
