About the role
Experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Company: The Boeing Company Boeing’s Defense Space and Security (BDS) organization has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to come join our Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team located in either Seattle, WA, Tukwila, WA or Kent, WA. Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an on-site Occupational Health & Safety Specialist that develops, implements and monitors occupational health and safety programs and processes. Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations. Develops corrective action plans to respond to investigations, internal/external audits and inspections. The ideal candidate will utilize Occupational Health and Safety concepts, manufacturing operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams. Additionally they will develop positive relationships with production operations, facilities, and supporting organizations to achieve and sustain an incident and injury free workplace and ensure business goals and objectives are met. Position Responsibilities: • Develops, implements and monitors occupational and industrial health safety programs and processes • Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations • Develops corrective action plans to respond to incident investigations, internal/external audits and inspections • Plans and conducts on-site health and safety audits, inspections and evaluations for all on-site workplace safety programs • Supports production operation teams through problem solving and risk mitigation • Monitors and supports change management and integration of EHS processes into Equipment Acquisitions and Modifications • Communicates effectively at production meetings with individual contributors, managers and executive leadership to share data, project plans, actions and results • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and drive solutions that reduce risk of injury in the workplace • Resolves cross-functional technical issues with stakeholders and foster positive outcomes • Supports EHS team internal audits, root cause analysis, risk management, industrial health initiatives and manage site safety plan as well as supporting team subject matter experts Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • 3+ years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) • 3+ years of experience performing health and safety risk assessments, developing and managing safety programs, and performing audits • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Bachelor’s degree or higher • Advanced communication skills with internal personnel and external customers on routine matters Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
