About the role
Position Summary You will lead the planning and delivery of high-impact medical congresses and events for US Medical Affairs, primarily supporting Oncology with the potential to expand into other therapeutic areas. You will work across teams including Global Medical, Field Medical, compliance, communications, and commercial partners. This role requires strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and operational excellence to deliver compliant and engaging healthcare professional experiences. These responsibilities include some of the following: Responsibilities • Own the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of prioritized US Medical Affairs congresses and events. • Lead cross-functional congress teams and serve as the primary US Medical Affairs point of contact for stakeholders, internal partners, and vendors. • Partner with stakeholders to identify content, engagement, and experience requirements, then drive collaboration across internal teams and vendor partners to deliver engaging, compliant scientific and educational experiences. • Drive organizational alignment on congress strategies, prioritization approaches, resource plans, and success measures aligned to organizational objectives. • Manage budgets, contracts, vendor relationships, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and onsite event operations to ensure seamless execution. • Provide clear, timely communications to stakeholders to ensure visibility to important information, awareness of deadlines and understanding of actions required. • Establish and continuously improve playbooks, tools, processes, and operational standards that enable scalable and compliant event delivery. • Ensure all activities, materials, and event operations meet medical, legal, regulatory, and company requirements and are audit ready. • Analyze event performance, spending, and stakeholder feedback to measure impact, communicate outcomes, and inform future planning. Basic Qualifications: We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare management, communications, or related field. • 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare events sector. • 3+ years’ direct experience managing medical congresses, scientific meetings, or complex events. • Strong project management experience with a track record of delivering events on time and on budget. • Experience managing external vendors, contracts, and logistics for live and hybrid events. • Comfortable working in a regulated environment and ensuring compliance with medical and legal standards. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS, or related) or equivalent professional certifications. • 5+ years leading large congress portfolios or enterprise-level event programs. • Experience creating playbooks, SOPs, and governance frameworks for repeatable execution. • Proficiency with event management platforms, registration systems, and virtual event tools. • Strong analytical s
