About the role

• Location: Reading • Start date: 15th July 2027 • Duration: 13 months • Work Model: Hybrid   About the job  As a Pharmacovigilance Industrial Placement Student, you will join the UK & Ireland Pharmacovigilance team and support activities that help ensure patient safety. You will gain hands-on experience in managing safety information, maintaining documentation and supporting processes that help the team meet regulatory requirements. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will learn how pharmacovigilance operates within a global pharmaceutical organisation while contributing to the accurate and efficient day-to-day running of the team. Main responsibilities: • Support the day-to-day processing of patient safety information, ensuring records are accurate and completed within required timelines. • Help monitor the Pharmacovigilance inbox and support activities such as case follow-up, reconciliation and quality checks. • Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic and paper documentation, helping ensure records remain ready for audits and inspections. • Support regular team activities, including monthly reconciliations, training records, trackers and electronic folders. • Provide administrative support such as preparing meeting minutes, presentations and correspondence, organising documents and coordinating meetings. • Support clear and timely communication with colleagues across different teams, with guidance from experienced Pharmacovigilance team members. • Contribute to team activities and projects while developing your understanding of patient safety, pharmacovigilance and the pharmaceutical industry.   About you   To excel in this role you will need to have: • You should be studying for a scientific, medical or related discipline degree, either as an undergraduate (BSc) or as part of an integrated Master’s programme, and be returning to university to continue your studies after completing the placement. • Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to working with information and documentation. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to organise your workload, manage priorities and meet deadlines. • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • A collaborative approach and willingness to work with colleagues across different teams. • Curiosity and willingness to learn, ask questions and respond positively to feedback.
